Slovak University of Technology in Bratislava (STU) is a modern educational and scientific institution. University is linked-up to the rich tradition of the Mining Academy in Banská ?tiavnica founded in 1762 by Austro-Hungarian Monarch Maria Teresa. Since its foundation in 1937 more than 105 000 students have graduated from it. In average, 16 000 students study every year. All seven faculties provide study in accredited study programs of bachelor, master and PhD. Faculties realise credit system compatible with the European Credit Transfer System enabling mutual mobility of students within EU countries and a larger European space. In the area of scientific and research activities the STU successfully joins EU programs. Institute of Engineering Studies is the pedagogical and research working-place, with the overall-university competency, aimed at management of the foreign students? education. Its profile consists of interdisciplinary educational and research activities.
