The Masaryk University, located in Brno (Czech Republic), is the second-largest public university in the Czech Republic and the leading higher education institution in Moravia. At present it comprises nine faculties with more than 200 departments, institutes and clinics. Masaryk University offers degrees in a wide spectrum of traditional as well as newly-emerging disciplines and is one of the fastest growing higher education institutions in Europe.

The Masaryk University was one of the first to introduce a three-tier structure of studies based on the ECTS system for the transfer and accumulation of credits. Contact persons work at the Department of Educational Sciences, Faculty of Arts Masaryk University. Educational activities of the Department of Educational Sciences are currently aimed at three directions (study programmes):

  • Education as a social science
  • Social education and counselling-lifelong learning programmes of educational guidance (school counselling)
  • School management

Vocational guidance and career counselling as important topics are included in mentioned programmes. In addition, the Department of Educational Sciences proposes the study programme for doctoral students in Education science.All available types of studies are designed and organized in accordance with the Bologna declaration. The important attention of the Department of Educational Sciences is paid to realization of a large rang of researches and developmental projects at national and international level, included researches and developmental projects in the field of career guidance and school counselling.
