University of Applied Labour Studies (HdBA)

The University of Applied Labour Studies (HdBA), located in Mannheim, Germany was created in 2006. It has the following responsibilities:

  • Training future experts for labour market services (including vocational guidance and counselling) in two Bachelor programmes: “Labour Market Management” and “Vocational and Career Guidance and Counselling and Case Management”
  • Further training for labour market services (in modular form and, from 2011 onwards, in Master programmes)
  • Applied research in the fields of labour market policy and labour market management

The University has been fully accredited by the German Council of Science and Humanities (Wissenschaftsrat). Its Bachelor programmes have been accredited by the Foundation for International Business Administration Accreditation (FIBAA). They have duration of three years (180 ECTS) and accept 300 new entrants per year, and thus reach a total stock of students of about 900. The teaching and scientific staff comprises 34 professors and 10 lecturers.
